Heading off to Cali, Cali, Cali…
This week has been a blur. The fam played host to my brother Thomas and his lovely wife Elke. T was a German exchange student who stayed with my folks for a year, and thus became my brother. When he returned to Germany, my brother went along and spent a year with his family. Thomas decided he wanted to turn 30 in the US, so back he came. Happy birthday, bro.
All free time I had this week went out the window with the release of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2. I won’t go into my impressions of the game (though I could so at length), if for no other reason than I seriously doubt the regular readers of this blog would really give a damn (with the noted exception of Carolyn). At any rate, I finished the game yesterday, thus re-claiming my life. Just in the nick of time, too. My wife’s annoyance was really starting to show.
And now, we’re off for two solid weeks of rest, relaxation, and recipes with our good friend Lynn out in Sonoma, CA. It’ll be good to meet a recovered child, and hopefully we can pick up some additional knowledge that’ll help us recover ours. Can’t wait.
As I may or may not be able to post again soon, I’ve got a cute kid fix for you in the form of (hopefully the last of the…) wintertime pictures. Just click the pic to get in on all the action.

Enjoy your sojourn in California :) Curious…how’s new game “Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic 2″ ? Pardon my ignorance on the subject of autism, would it be feasible for your son to use ASL (American Sign Language) to communicate with you?

Thanks, folks! TJ, we do use some signs, but only as an intermediate step to language production. Right now, he has 5-10 “kinda sorta” words, and I’m looking to expand that. To answer your other question, KOTOR 2 is good, though extremely buggy, and the ending was a bitter disappointment. This is one product that got pushed out the door WAAAYY too soon.
